Sarah Montague vs. Malaysian Foreign Minister Dato Seri Syed Hamid Albar

I believe kennysia.com has posted this as well..

But I'm gonna put this up anyways.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/hardtalk/6992908.stm

This is a video of a BBC reporter interviewing our Foreign Minister on the issue of "possible" racial discrimination in our country.

What interests me more is the conversation itself rather than the content of it.
I make no stand in this issue because i think it is redundant which incidentally is also the nature of most talk shows-
Redundant.

People talk, people clap their hands and voice out their support be it live audiences on those at home.

But are things done? Sometimes. It creates an AWARENESS of a particular issue. But followups?? hmm...

Well.. i suppose it can also be argued that talk shows address and acknowledge people's needs hence DELAYING certain reactions to a particular issue.

Anyways, i find it interesting that Sarah Montague presses hard with issues that is deemed sensitive in the country.
while our foreign minister is rather skilled in providing reasons that AT TIMES make sense (Shall give him a benefit of a doubt)

Not considering the issue discussed, I'm quite amazed at the way he conversed and manage not only to defend but pin the reporter back by mentioning their respective positions - ONE, breathing Malaysian air while the other is a COMMENTATOR who is a foreigner.

oh wells...watch it if you want to =)

Good day.

Enjoy =)
